There are a number of holiday care options for your pets in Liverpool that have their own pro's and con's. Probably your best option is if family or friends can look after dog while you’re away, but if that’s not an option there are three main choices:

 

Pet Sitting: If your dog is mature and confident, then this might be the right option. Your dog will stay at your home and a professional pet sitter would visit at prearranged and agreed times. The pet sitter will feed and walk your dog. Ask to meet your pet sitter in person and check their credentials – references, experience etc. Ensure your pet sitter is registered with the National Association of Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers and CRB checked.

 

Kennels: Boarding kennels are the main method for absentee care for pets such as Dogs. There are a number of long-established kennels and catteries in Liverpool and some vet’s offer this service too.

 

Private Boarding: More and more private boarding options have become available for dogs. They board with other dog-loving people. You provide the food and bedding, toys etc for your dog. Just like the kennels option, you should view the home and vet the check the credentrials of the person that will be looking after your dog.

 

With any of these options, you should always book as far in advance as possible, because demand often outstrips supply, especially during holiday periods.
